David Burnett Obituary

Burnett, Dave Dave Burnett passed away suddenly on August 22 2017, aged 79. He had “the big one” just as he always said he would. Dave was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in France with the 6th Armored Division as a member of an ordinance team known as the “Hardy Boys.” His service remained a source of pride throughout his life. Dave was a kind man with a great sense of humor and a seemingly endless supply of jokes and anecdotes for every situation. He often spoke fondly of his peers at H.S. Die, where he made his career as Director of Engineering. He believed in the value of teamwork and camaraderie, exemplified by his team at H.S. In retirement, Dave gladly served on the board of the Sparta Hunting and Fishing Club, where he was passionate about the advancement of the youth Hunter’s Safety program. Although he has passed, Dave’s legacy will carry on in the principles he instilled in his family. Dave’s kindness, honesty, and infectious sense of humor will be sorely missed. His passing amounts to an immeasurable loss for his family and anyone who knew him. Dave is survived by his wife Mary Ellen and their four children, David Burnett (Shirley), Robert Burnett (Colleen), Christine Malvitz (Thomas), and Candace Ramsahoi (Andrew) as well as his grandchildren Nickolas Armstrong, Andrew Armstrong, Taylor Armstrong, Stephen Malvitz, Tony Burnett, Cody Burnett, Alex Burnett, Tyler Burnett, Sophie Burnett, McKenna Malvitz, Madeline Malvitz, Mary Burnett, Andrew Ramsahoi Jr., and Salvator Ramsahoi, and two great grandchildren Levi Malvitz and Simon Malvitz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where he will repose one hour prior to the Mass. His family will receive visitors Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arsulowicz Brothers Stocking Mortuary, 585 Stocking NW where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
